A Wi-Fi compatible computer, smartphone, tablet, smart TV, game console, security camera or other device can access the Internet wirelessly through the Motorola MG7310 Cable Modem/Router. You can connect up to 253 devices wirelessly; however multiple devices sharing the same bandwidth will slow your network. To make a wireless connection, follow these steps:
- First locate the wireless connection setup on your device. Next, select the default Wireless Network Name (SSID) printed on the bottom of your cable modem/router (or if you have changed this, the name that you have assigned).
- You will be prompted to enter the Wireless Security Key or Password for your wireless network. The default WPA2 security key is printed on the label located on the bottom of your Cable Modem/Router. (Use your own security key if you have changed this). See below for an example:
- Open your device’s browser and go to a website to test your wireless setup. If it works, congratulations!
Note: Some devices may not support the default WPA2 Security of your device. Laptops running Vista or XP, and some versions of gaming consoles only support WEP security. If you need to change the security settings please check your cable modem’s manual for instructions on how to do this.
