Note: Connections and configurations may vary depending on your home network. If you have a fiber optic internet connection, your router may already have a MoCa adapter built in, in which case, only one MM1000 MoCa adapter is needed.
MoCa is not a replacement for your cable modem or router
Most routers are already MoCa compatible
To check if your router is MoCa compatible:
a. Look on your device to see if it has the MoCa logo or the word MoCa somewhere on it
b. Login to your browser-based configuration manager to see if MoCa is mentioned
- Locate an active coaxial port in your home.
- Connect a coaxial cable between the wall coaxial port and the coaxial port labeled Network on the MM1000 MoCa adapter.
- Connect a coaxial cable between the Device port on the adapter and the RF connector on your cable modem or cable modem router.
- Connect an Ethernet cable between the Ethernet port on the MM1000 and an Ethernet port on the router.
- Power on the MM1000 MoCa adapter.
- Locate a second active coaxial port in your home.
- Connect a coaxial cable between the wall coaxial port and the coaxial port labeled Network on a second MM1000 MoCa adapter.
- Power on the second MM1000 MoCa adapter.
- Connect an Ethernet cable between the MoCa adapter and your TV, or other client device that connects using an Ethernet cable. If the device uses a coaxial cable, you can also connect a cable between the Device port on the MoCa adapter and the device.
When everything is connected correctly, and there is internet connection flowing through both MoCa adapters, the Link lights will be on.
