The Motorola MH7602 2-pack and MH7603 3-pack come with two and three MH7601 devices, one of which you will set up as your router and the others to be set up as mesh WiFi extenders to expand your home's WiFi coverage. The MotoSync app makes it an easy process.
In order to set up an MH7601 as an extender, you will first need to have an MH7601 unit configured as your main router.
What you will need:
- MH7601 configured as the main router
- Additional MH7601(s) for extender (s)
- Ethernet cable
- Power adapter
- Mobile phone (iPhone or Android)
- MotoSync app
Step one: Launch the MotoSync app
To begin, launch the
MotoSync
app. If you previously set up your main router using the app, you will already be logged in. If you have not completed this step, please

When the app is launched and you are signed in, you'll be taken to the
Network
tab. This is the home screen.
Step two: Add the MH7601 extender to your account
Go to the Settings tab (found at the bottom right of the screen), once there it will look similar to the example below. Toward the bottom of the page under the System section, tap on the Add mesh extender button.
Next, you will be asked to scan a QR code. Each Motorola MH7601 unit has a QR code on the back of it. Tap the Scan device QR Code button on your mobile phone to continue. The camera on your phone should be made available and allow you to quickly scan the QR code on the extender unit.
You will next receive a confirmation page that this extender has been added to your account. Tap the Setup my device button to continue.
Step three: Activate the extender
To activate your extender, plug it into an outlet using the supplied power adapter. Make sure it is placed near your MH7601 router.
The MH7601 extender front light will blink white while booting and will blink blue once it is ready to be connected to your router. Once blinking blue, tap the I See The Light button
T he exten d er will configure itself to your network. It can take up to ten minutes for this process to complete. Once the device has been successfully added to your network, you will be presented with a checkmark on your screen and the LED on the front of the extender should be solid white .
Note: If the extender’s front light continues to blink blue or is solid amber, it may not be close enough to the router. Try moving the extender closer to the router.
Now it's time to place your extender in a permanent location, please reference this guide for placement tips.
If you have an additional extender device to set up, you can do so by tapping Add another extender .
Otherwise, tap Finish setup and you'll be brought to the Network tab of the moto sync app.
