Whats the difference between Motosync and Motosyc+

There are two (2) iOS and Android applications in use today that support Motorola Home Networking Products -  Motosync and Motosync+

So, what's the difference? Are they compatible?

Motosync - legacy application that supports Motorola Home Networking device setup, mesh management, and varying in-home control of internet features. Motosync supports the MG8702, MG8725, MT8733, MG8611, and the Q14

Motosync+ - an updated version of the end-user application that supports all new products (starting in 2025). It has advanced controls fo in-home data privacy, screen time support, and premium features like Home Bound (with a private VPN). This application also supports the setup of a mesh network while maintaining all of the security features that come standard with the Motosync+ application.

Motosync and Motosync+ are not compatible. Your device setup guide will inform you as to which application supports your device. Soon, backwards compatibility will become available. Once available for your device type you will be informed and have the chance to chose which application suits your needs. The MG8702 will be the first legacy device to utilize the Motosync+ application. If you dont already have it, ask our service team when you can expect it in your area.
