Setting up a Motorola MH7022 is straightforward when using the Motosync App. The instructions below will mirror the actions taken in the app.
What you will need:
- MH7022 router
- MH7022 satellite
- Modem or incoming internet connection
- Ethernet cable
- Two power adapters
- Mobile phone (iPhone or Android)
- Motosync App
Step one: Create a motosync account
To begin, download the Motosync App.
Once downloaded, launch the app. First, you will be taken to the sign-in page. Tap on the Create Account
button. The page will redirect to the Create My Account page. Enter the email address you would like to associate with the account and a password.
Please note: signing in with an existing account will not allow you to set up the new MH7022 router. You will need to sign in with a new account that has not been associated with a router before.
Before tapping 'create account', you will be directed to confirm your age and review the Terms and conditions and privacy policy pages. Once they have been reviewed, tap on the white square button which will turn blue when toggled.
Step two: Add the router to your account
Now that your account has been set up, let's add the router to your account. Your screen should now look like the screen below. Tap the Get started
button to begin.
Each Motorola device will have a QR code on the back of it. Locate the QR code on the device labeled Router.
First, tap on the

The app will now direct you to perform a series of actions to bring your new router online. Follow the prompts on your screen. Once you have completed each step, tap on the Next or I see the light!
button at the bottom of the screen.
After you complete these steps, you will be directed to a page with a spinning circle: Motosync is now connecting to your router. Once the connection has completed successfully, you will see a checkmark on the screen. Tap the

button to continue. Please note: if you do not receive a green checkmark, attempt the process again. We recommend troubleshooting the connection between the modem and the MH7022. If you are still not receiving the green checkmark, please contact our Customer Success team so we can assist you. Tapping on the chat bubble in the corner of this page will also connect you directly to our Customer Success team.
Step three: Set your SSID and password
The next screen will allow the opportunity to customize the broadcasted SSID and the password used to log onto the WiFi. Tap the Confirm
button to continue after entering the information in these fields.
If you would prefer to not set a new SSID and password, you can tap on the Use Defaults
button to use the same SSID and password found on the bottom of the router.
Step four (optional): Add a satellite to your account
The next screen will allow for the option to set up a satellite. If you purchased more than one Motorola router, you can set up the additional units as wireless mesh satellites that will help distribute the WiFi throughout your home. To learn more about how to set up a satellite using the motosync app, please continue here. Otherwise, tap skip and finish setup
to complete the process.
You've successfully added your MH7022 router to your new Motosync account. You will be provided a copy of your network SSID and password. You can view this information again in the app whenever you need it. Take the opportunity to connect the devices in your home to your new WiFi router. When finished, tap on the Go home
button at the bottom of the screen.
