  • Entering an old password incorrectly may cause a Login prompt to appear after saving changes.
  • An "ERROR with[object XMLHttpRequest]" message will pop up if the Phy Rate page was refreshed many times.

Changes

  • Under the MoCA Setup page, the Transmit power and Beacon Power Level will only allow the option to change from 10 to 6.

Upgrading the MM1025 software

To upgrade the software on your Motorola MM1025, you need to plug a computer into the Ethernet port of that MM1025. Below are instructions for upgrading the software using a Windows or Mac computer.

    1. Windows users should follow these steps:
      1. Hold down the Windows key windows-key-icon.png and then press the keyboard letter R to bring up the Windows Run dialog box.
      2. Type ncpa.cpl in the Windows run dialog box and press OK .
      3. The Network Connections window will open. Right-click on the adapter labeled Ethernet and select Properties . For Windows 7 users the adapter may be labeled Local Area Connection . Click on that and select Properties.
      4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
      5. In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog box, select Use the following IP address . Enter 192.168.0.5 as the IP address and 255.255.255.0 as the Subnet mask, and then press OK .
      6. Continue to Step 2 below.
      Mac users should follow these steps:
      1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences .
      2. Select Network . The Network window will appear.
      3. From the sidebar, select the Ethernet interface then click Advanced.
      4. Select the TCP/IP tab.
      5. Change Configure IPv4 to Manually . Enter 192.168.0.5 for the IPv4 address and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask and then click OK.
      6. Continue to Step 2 below.
    2. Now bring up your computer’s browser, type 192.168.0.2 into the browser’s address bar, and then press Enter.
    3. The MM1025’s configuration manager should appear. On the left-hand menu select Upgrade .
    4. Click on the Choose File button. Browse to the location where you downloaded the software file and select MM1025_v1.18.2.4.bin .
    5. Click on Upgrade to load the new software onto the MM1025. It’s IMPORTANT that you don’t power off the unit while the software is upgrading. Once your software has finished loading, the MM1025 will automatically reboot, taking about 20 to 30 seconds.
    6. Important! You must perform a factory reset on the MM1025. Using a pin or straightened paperclip, press and hold the RESET button for three (3) seconds. Please wait 30 seconds while the MM1025 restores its factory default settings.
    7. You will need to change your computer back to a dynamic IP address. To do this, follow steps a–e for your operating system above, except for step e:
      • Windows users should select Obtain an IP address automatically , and click OK .
      • Mac users should change Configure IPv4 to Using DHCP and click OK .

Accessing the Configuration manager on the MM1025 with the new software version 18.2.4

To access the configuration manager on your Motorola MM1025, you need to plug a computer into the Ethernet port of that MM1025. Below are instructions for setting up the network configuration on the computer.

  1. Windows users should follow these steps:
    1. Hold down the Windows key windows-key-icon.png and then press the keyboard letter R to bring up the Windows Run dialog box.
    2. Type ncpa.cpl in the Windows run dialog box and press OK .
    3. The Network Connections window will open. Right-click on the adapter labeled Ethernet and select Properties . For Windows 7 users the adapter may be labeled Local Area Connection. Click on that and select Properties.
    4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
    5. In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog box, select Use the following IP address . Enter 169.254.1.2 as the IP address and 255.255.255.0 as the Subnet mask, and then press OK.
    6. Continue to Step 2 below.
    Mac users should follow these steps:
    1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences .
    2. Select Network . The Network window will appear.
    3. From the sidebar, select the Ethernet interface then click Advanced .
    4. Select the TCP/IP tab.
    5. Change Configure IPv4 to Manually . Enter 169.254.1.2 for the IPv4 address and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask and then click OK .
    6. Continue to Step 2 below.
  2. Now bring up your computer’s browser, type 169.254.1.1 into the browser’s address bar, and then press Enter .
  3. You should be prompted to enter a login username and password. The default username and password are:
    Username: admin
    Password: Key2&cce55
  4. The MM1025’s configuration manager should appear and you should be requested to change the default login username and password. Change them and reboot the MM1025.
  5. After the MM1025 is booted repeat Step 2 and use the new username and password when prompted to authenticate.
  6. The MM1025’s configuration manager should appear and you should be able to configure the device.
  7. After you complete configuring your MM1025 you will need to change your computer IP configuration back to a dynamic IP address. To do this, follow steps a–e for your operating system above, except for step e:
    • Windows users should select Obtain an IP address automatically , and click OK .
    • Mac users should change Configure IPv4 to Using DHCP and click OK .
