Wireless is not broadcasting Wireless not working

TROUBLESHOOTING:
On the front of your modem, depending on your model, there are 1 or 2 wireless LED symbols.
In this picture, an MG7550 model (dual band), it shows the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz LED's:

Look at the front of your modem.  Do you see either of these light up?

THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO:

You should always power cycle all devices.
Unplug the power cable to your modem/router.  Wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cable back in.  Once your modem/router is powered up and you see LED lights coming on, power down any device using the modem (smart phone, gaming device, computer, tablet etc.)



DOWNLOAD WIRELESS SCANNER: Scans and displays real time wireless networks

iPhone/iPad or Android device:
Download the free app "WiFi Analyzer"
Look for your wireless network name (if you haven't changed it, the name should be the same wireless network name (SSID) as what is displayed on the white sticker on the bottom of your modem.

MAC OS includes a free wireless scanner program
Windows - there are some free or trial wireless scanner programs you can search for

WIFI LED LIGHTS NOT ON or you do not see your wireless network displayed in your WiFi scanner:

Turn the modem around and locate the "WLAN" button.  HOLD IN the WLAN button in for 10 seconds, and then let go.

*Note:  Your modem's WLAN button may not look exactly like the one in the picture, depending on the model.  Picture in the model is an MG7550

Now turn your modem around and look at the front panel.  Wait several seconds.  You should see either LED's light up (If you only have a 2.4 GHz modem, you would only see the 2.4 GHz LED light up).

NO CHANGE?
Try it again.  HOLD IN the WLAN button for 10 seconds.
Check the wireless scanner app or software again to see if you your wireless network name(s) is displayed.



FACTORY RESET:

If you have accidentally disabled the wireless functionality in your modem, or made changes in your modem settings, you can reverse everything and go back to factory settings.

Turn the modem around to the back of the unit

Keep the modem POWERED ON

Get a straightened-out paperclip or thumb tack/pen

Press in the RESET hole for 15 seconds, then release

*Note:  Your modem's RESET hole may not look exactly like the one in the picture, depending on the model.  Picture in the model is an MG7310

Look at the LED lights in the front of your modem

The wireless light(s) should be lit up
